Calling All Readers: Favor Needed (Adoption)

We are now totally finished with all our required adoption training and only need to finish our new homestudy and then it is hurry up and wait. We've learned there can be a lot of waiting when adopting. Since I am really bad at waiting I figure God is using this time help me get better at it!

Yesterday I sent out an email to all of our friends asking for a favor and I wanted to post this favor on the blog because you just never know who may be able to help. Here's our favor:

Dear Friends,

As you may already know, Reggie and I have been on a journey to adopt a precious baby for the past year and a half. We recently switched adoption agencies to Bethany Christian Adoption Services and learned that our wait could be anywhere from 1 day to 2-3 years depending on circumstances. They mentioned a great way to shorten our wait would be to let everyone in our lives know that we would like to adopt a baby. This is where the favor part comes in! The agency has the ability to help us further with all legal aspects and provides counselng services and can help with any other needs of the birthparents if they would like to place their baby in a loving home through adoption.

We prayerfully ask if you may hear of someone who is pregnant and knows this is not the best time in her life to raise a child, please let her know we would be interested in meeting with her, talking with her or making whatever arrangements she finds comfortable.

Please feel free to mention our desire to adopt to anyone you may know! I look forward to seeing how God works through this process and we will keep you updated.

Mother's Day - "The Gift of an Ordinary Day" by Katrina Kenison

Happy Belated Mother's Day!

I saw this video and had to share it. Anyone who knows me knows that I am very sentimental about my little one growing up. I always joke that for me everything is a mile stone and I want to freeze the moment to experience it just a little longer. So, when I saw this video it reminded me that it really is all the ordinary things we do each day that I will cherish and before long my little man won't be so little. Enjoy!
